Category of Membership
The Chartered Institute of Housing offers two main categories of membership,
namely CIH Member and CIH Chartered Member.

CIH Member
- Anyone with an interest in housing and studying a housing accredited course recognized by CIH or
- Anyone who has completed a CIH recognized course at an accredited institute/centre and be eligible for CIH Member
- Graduates of other property management related courses equivalent to Qualification Framework Level 4 or above holding an officer grade or above with adequate relevant working experience
- officer grade or above being assessed through the Prior learning Recognition Scheme run by Vocational Training Council (VTC) and accredited with 5 out of 7 units (security, cleaning, building maintenance and repair, customer service, landscape, leasing and clubhouse management) plus adequate relevant working experience
CIH Chartered Member
- Anyone who has completed a CIH recognized course at an accredited institute/centre and be eligible for CIH Chartered Member
- Apart from additional requirements via Direct Final route and the following criteria, at least 3 years of relevant working experience is required for application for the grade of Chartered Member.
