Event Details: Qualifications Framework Symposium
A “Symposium on The Hong Kong Qualifications Framework – Policy and Strategies” was successfully held on 25 February 2006. The Symposium received responsive supports from more than two-hundred professionals of different disciplines and academics. Three representatives of the CIH(APB) have also attended the symposium.


After an introduction of the Qualification Framework and its progress by Ms Rebecca Pun from the Education and Manpower Bureau, Ms Georgina Chan of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants expressed the impact of the proposed Qualification Framework on professional associations and Hon Ms Li Fung-ying of the Legislative Council briefed the audience on the Qualification Framework legislation progress. Led off by Dr Li Kam Cheong, Chairman of the Council of Hong Kong Professional Associations (COPA), a thorough sharing and interactive discussion of the concerns regarding the proposed Qualification Framework among the guest speakers and participants were the highlights of this symposium and let the government collect most valuable views directly from professionals.
