Tai Po District Quality Building Management Competition 2006
This competition is organized by the Tai Po District Fire Safety Committee/Tai Po District Office and sponsored by the Tai Po District Council. In addition to members of CIH APB, the Assessment Panel includes representatives from the following organizations:
- Tai Po District Fire Safety Committee
- Buildings Department
- Electrical and Mechanical Services Department
- Housing Authority and Housing Department
- Fire Services Department
- Hong Kong Police Force
- Environmental Protection Department
- Food and Environmental Hygiene Department
- Independent Commission Against Corruption
The competition aims at encouraging owners of private buildings to participate in housing management through competition to improve their management skills and to improve the living environment in the Tai Po neighborhood.
The participants are the Owners´ Corporations, Owners´ Committees, Mutual Aid Committees and other residents´ associations within the district. This year, 23 estates joined the competition.
The Assessment Panel carried out 4-day site visits in October 2006. Two Executive Committee Members from CIH APB volunteered to join the assessment. The Panel visited estates concerned and gave evaluation based on pre-determined aspects like security, fire prevention facilities, efforts paid in environmental protection and other property management aspects.
The awarding ceremony will be held on 12 November 2006.
