Date : 24 November 2006
Event Details: International Housing Conference in Hong Kong
To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Asian Pacific Branch, the Branch has organised an International Housing Conference with the theme " Contemporary Housing Management – Beyond the Boundaries " on 24 November 06 in the Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hotel of Hong Kong. A panel of distinguished speakers from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Macao, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, and UK gave their presentations on topical issues about current housing review and housing development in their regions.

The Conference was officiated by Dr. Patrick Ho, the Secretary for Home Affairs of the Hong Kong SAR Government and Mr. Ricky Yuen, the Chairman of the Asian Pacific Branch. Ms. Janet Hale, the President of Chartered Institute of Housing, led a delegation of 40 council members and staff to attend the event. The Conference was well-received by over 350 participants comprising housing officials, industry leaders, housing professionals, academic, students and those who are interested in the housing development. Overwhelming success of the Conference was attributable to the tremendous support given by the speakers and our UK headquarters, sponsorship provided by Hong Kong Housing Society and Commerce, Industry and Technology Bureau of Hong Kong SAR Government, and concerted effort contributed by our members.
