Event Details: Visit to Discovery Bay

On 26 May 2007, a sunny day with isolated showers, a total of 40 members from Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch and the Hong Kong Institute of Housing visited Discovery Bay.

The visiting group arrived at Discovery Bay at 10:00 am and was warmly received by the management staff. After attending a briefing, the group toured around the site. Members were fascinated by the gardens, sculptures, fountains, lawns and children’s play areas around. Toddlers roamed on the grass bare-footed, capturing one’s eagerness for return to nature.

The development comprises low density housing of garden house, low-rise and high-rise properties to meet various needs of different people.

There are 4 recreational clubs, namely Golf Club, Marina Club, Residents Club and Club Siena, providing a wide variety of activities for the residents.

Members took a panoramic view both from the peak and the beach. The beautiful scenery brightens up one´s mind and soul.

Seeing this development so unique of its own, members showed great interest in how daily property management works are arranged at a reasonable price, how safety and security are upkept and how value-added services are provided. Though questions were many, several management staff helped to answer all our questions.

The visit ended at 12:30 pm. Many continued to explore the site, enjoying the sea breeze and warm sun.

Participants reflected that the visit was both enjoyable and fruitful.

The Activities Committee wishes to express special thanks to the management staff of Discovery Bay who prepared so well and had made arrangements so smooth for the visit.
