Event Details: The Chartered Institute of Housing - Annual Conference & Exhibition 2007

This year´s Annual Conference & Exhibition of the Chartered Institute of Housing was held from 19 to 21 June 2007 at Harrogate, UK , with Conference Dinner for all delegates / exhibitors on 18 June and a technical visit to Bradford and nearby cities specially arranged for international delegates on 22 June 2007. Theme of this year´s Conference is "Building Communities, Shaping Lives". The Conference & Exhibition, being the leading housing event in UK, attracted more than 4,000 delegates, 380 exhibitors and 6,400 exhibition visitors.

Branch Chairman Mr Victor Chow led a delegation from the Asian Pacific Branch to attend the conference. The delegation comprised of 8 Executive Committee members of the Branch and one Council Member from The Hong Kong Institute of Housing. Delegates attended various meetings, workshops, seminars and the Institute´s Annual General Meeting, and took the opportunities to exchange views and experiences with their counterparts in UK and overseas.

The visit to Harrogate is indeed a knowledge earning one. Delegates not only learned about the recent developments of Housing in UK, but also shared their experiences with delegates in UK and other countries, not to mention getting to know the latest housing innovations including building materials, IT / software support and finance.
