On 17 April 2009 afternoon, Mr Sanford Poon, Chairman of Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch (CIHAPB) and Dr W F Yen, President of Hwa Hsia Institute of Technology, Taiwan signed a "Memorandum of Cooperation and Exchange" in the Branch Office. The signing ceremony was solemnly conducted and witnessed by Mr Victor Chow, Immediate Past Chairman, Dr Ricky Yuen, Chairman of Professional Development Committee, Dr N Y Yip, Chairman of Publication Committee, Mr P Y Fung, Chairman of Information and Technology Committee, Mr H N Wong, General Manager (Professional Development) and Dr Jimmy Chen of Hwa Hsia Institute of Technology.

To mark the commencement of the cooperation between the two institutes, Mr Sanford Poon and Dr W F Yen also signed an agreement with the intention to organize/conduct training programs for property management professionals in Taiwan. The agreement aims to upgrade professionalism of Housing Management and to train up qualified and professional trainers in Taiwan.

The signing of the memorandum and the agreement marks a new chapter between CIHAPB and Hwa Hsia Institute of Technology. With the commencement of the training programmes, it is anticipated that the communication and exchange between the two institutes and the housing professionals in Taiwan will be further enhanced in future.
