Upon invitation, Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch (CIHAPB) participated in the "Building Safety Carnival" held by Buildings Department of Hong Kong SAR Government, Hong Kong Housing Society, and Urban Renewal Authority in Victoria Park to promote the importance of building safety for property management professionals and citizens on 17 Jan 2010.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Mrs Carrie Lam, Secretary for Development, Mr Au Choi-kai, Director of Buildings, Mr Yeung Ka-sing, Chairman of Hong Kong Housing Society and Mr Barry Cheung Chun-yuen, Chairman of Urban Renewal Authority.

After the opening ceremony, a series of recreational activities were held to promote the importance of building safety. CIHAPB has also set up a booth in the venue to promote the Branch and was well received by the participants. The event was successfully held and over one thousand housing management professionals and public attended the Carnival .
