Event Details: "Unravelling a Ticking Bomb – Proper Building Management and Maintenance of Aged Buildings"

A joint seminar on "Unravelling a Ticking Bomb – Proper Building Management and Maintenance of Aged Buildings" was held successfully by Hong Kong Professional Property Service Alliance (HKPPSA) [comprising Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies (HKAPMC), Hong Kong Institute of Housing (HKIH), Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch (CIHAPB) and Hong Kong Institute of Real Estate Administrators (HIREA)] on 15 May 2010 at Craigengower Cricket Club. The seminar was well attended by nearly 200 members of the Alliance.

Apart from the thought-provoking speech given by our keynote speakers, Mrs. Carrie Lam, Secretary for Development, all the guest speakers including Mrs. Pamela Tan, Director of Home Affairs, Mr. C.K Au, Director of Buildings, and Mr. Peter Chan, Partner of Chung & Kwan Solicitors have delivered insightful speeches to inspire the attending members to actively participate in the brainstorming session of the seminar.

For those members who have missed the chance to be inspired by our honorable guest speakers, please browse the contents of their power-point as per attached. Should you have any useful comments on this topic, please forward it to the Branch Office by mail or email on or before 30 June 10. We will consolidate your comments for submission to the Government later on. Hopefully we could assist the Government in shaping a timely strategy to resolve this long-standing problem of aged buildings.
