To commemorate the 45th Anniversary of the Asian Pacific Branch, the Branch has organized an International Housing Conference with the theme " Subsidized Housing – Experience and the Way Forward " on 5 November 11 in the City University of Hong Kong. The Conference was officiated by Mr Duncan Warren Pescod, JP, Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Housing), Hong Kong SAR and Mr. Cliff Wong, Chairman of the Asian Pacific Branch.


A panel of distinguished speakers, including Mr John Hopkins, Executive Director, South African Housing Foundation; Mr Tam Kuong Man, President, Housing Bureau, Macao SAR; Professor Ray Forrest, Department of Public and Social Administration, City University of Hong Kong; and 深圳市住房研究會常務副會長陳藹貧, gave their presentations on topical issues about current housing review and housing development in their regions.


The Conference was well-received by 200 participants comprising housing officials, industry leaders, housing professionals, academic, students and those who are interested in the housing development. Overwhelming success of the Conference was attributable to the tremendous support given by the speakers and the concerted effort contributed by our members
