Event Details: Visit to Zero Carbon Building

In the morning of 6 October 2012, the Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch has organized a visit to Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) at Kowloon Bay. ZCB is the first zero carbon construction in Hong Kong, which is developed by Construction Industry Council, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Government.

Over 30 participants joined the activity and visited the facilities inside and outside the main building, e.g. the exhibition and education area, eco-office, eco-home and multipurpose hall in the building, green active systems plant rooms, eco-plaza, outdoor exhibition area, Hong Kong´s first urban native woodland, eco-café in the landscape area and etc.. During the visit, the tour guide of ZCB widened the eye horizon of the participants by introducing and explaining the state-of-the-art design and technologies adopted at ZCB, such as the tri-generation electricity system powered by the energy acquired from the photovoltaic panels and the biodiesel.
