Date : 7 February 2015
Event Details: 2015 CIHAPB Executive Committee Brainstorming Session

The brainstorming session was held on 7 February 2015 (Saturday) at Courtyard, Marriott HK Shatin. At this session, the new Branch Executive Committee, led by the Chairman, Mr Ng Kwong Ming, reviewed strategies for development and business plans with proposed budgets of respective Committees.

In the coming year, the Branch will focus its effort in the Asia Pacific region with emphasis on the Mainland China, Taiwan and Macau. The Branch aims at fostering stronger ties with counterparts and government officials in these areas to promote professionalism of housing management through visits and seminars. This year, the Branch will continue to expand its membership, to organize seminars in the region and further enhance/strengthen the services to its members, in particular, those in Mainland China.

As the licensing of Housing Management Companies and practitioners is being pursued in full speed and the Property Management Services Bill is now undergoing the second reading of the legislative procedures, the Branch would be in close collaboration with different educational institutes to tailor appropriate courses for new practitioners to meet with the licensing requirements. The Branch will also continue to solicit members' opinions on those controversial amendments proposed by Home Affairs Department (HAD) during the review of Building Management Ordinance. The Branch will work closely with other Housing Management professional bodies to ensure our views and suggestions on the consultation document would be fully aware of HAD.

Starting from this year, all professional members in HK are mandatory required to join the Continuous Professional Development Program (CPD). Professional Practice Committee will ensure sufficient support would be given to the members in accomplishing the CPD requirements.

Chairperson of all Committees of the Branch submitted their business plans and budgets to the Executive Committee for endorsement. Finally, the Executive Committee approved the business plans and budget of the Committees and adopted it as the work of the Branch for 2015.
