Event Details: 2023 Joint Annual Dinner of CIHAPB and HKIH

The 2023 Joint Annual Dinner of CIHAPB and HKIH was successfully held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. There were more than 30 tables of participants, inviting well-known industry figures to attend. It was a great honor to have Ms. Winnie Ho, Secretary for Housing of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, as the guest of honor.


As an important event of the two institutes, the Annual Dinner was a highly anticipated event in the industry. Especially after three years of the pandemic, it was a joy to finally resume the dinner. In addition to celebrating the establishment of the two institutes, the dinner provided an opportunity for members to gather and exchange views in the industry. During the dinner, guests, chairpersons, and members of the institutes shared their insights on property management, as well as reviewed the achievements of the past year and the future outlook for the industry.


This year also marked the 35th anniversary of the Hong Kong Institute of Housing Managers. The dinner began with opening remarks from Ms. Chang Yuk Kam, Patricia, President of The Hong Kong Institute of Housing. She highlighted the nearly 360,000 housing units that would be available in Hong Kong in the future, expressing hope that the government would increase housing supply and provide more talent training and favorable measures for the property management industry. She also emphasized the importance of creating incentives for owners to adopt smart devices in the industry.


The presence of Ms Winnie Ho, the Secretary for Housing highlighted the government's emphasis on housing management in Hong Kong, affirming the contributions of the two institutes to the industry. As the guest of honor, Ms. Winnie Ho shared her insights on current housing policies and market developments, providing guidance and inspiration for the future development of the industry. She also emphasized the importance of listening to residents' feedback to ensure their happiness and well-being.


Mr. Wong Ying Kit Romulus, Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch, delivered the closing remarks for the joint annual dinner. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the two institutes to all guests, organizations, sponsors, and members for their support, allowing the dinner to be successfully held. He reiterated the commitment of the institutes to continue striving for progress and providing valuable insights for the management of Hong Kong housing. Mr. Wong also emphasized the core values of the institutes in bringing together talents from various sectors, promoting industry development, exploring the application of new technologies, and wishing for a more prosperous, sustainable, and better future for Hong Kong through the collective efforts of industry professionals.

Ms Winnie Ho shared the Housing Burea's work and vision for future housing planning with guests, aiming to introduce new designs and enhance residents' well-being. Several awards, including the "Creating Livable Cities, Building Happy Homes" photography competition and the Best Student Award, were presented at the annual dinner to encourage the new generation interested in the Hong Kong property management industry.
Mr. Wong Ying Kit, Romulus delivered the closing speech, expressing gratitude to guests, organizations, sponsors, and members for their support. He encouraged everyone to continue working together, united, to strive for the advancement of property management professionalism.
