The Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) held its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Seminar on 5 September 2025, themed "Handling Emergencies", aimed at enhancing the property management industry's awareness and response capabilities to emergencies such as power outages, elevator incidents, and fires, thereby safeguarding lives and property.
Mr. Edmond Cheung, Deputy Chairman, along with members of the Executive Committee, attended a seminar where expert speakers shared insights on handling emergency situations. The speakers in attendance included:
1. Mr. YIU Chu Hong, Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, Electrical & Mechanical Services Department, who elaborated on strategies for managing power outages in properties;
2. Mr. CHEUNG Mentor, Engineer, Electrical & Mechanical Services Department, who shared insights on handling lift/elevator incidents;
3. Mr. LO Yun-wo, Senior Station Officer, Fire Services Department, who discussed the formulation of fire management plans and emergency response measures;
4. Mr. Dominic HUI, Manager – Resources Programming (East & West Region), CLP Power Hong Kong Limited, and Mr. Joseph MAK, Chief Meter Installation Engineer, Hong Kong Electric Company Limited, who introduced support services available during power outages;
5. Ms. Diana PANG, General Manager (Regulatory), PMSA, who outlined the critical responsibilities of property management companies and practitioners as custodians of property facilities in emergency handling;
6. Mr. Stephen LAU, Chairman of Professional Practice, Hong Kong Institute of Housing, and Assistant General Manager, Kai Shing Management Services Limited, who shared practical experiences in emergency management.
