Brief Meassage:
The Executive Committee of the Asian Pacific Branch (APB) recently appointed Miss Wong Lai Chun and Mrs Julia Wong as the Honorary Advisor of the Branch so that they could help in the continued development of the Branch by inputting professional advice.

Miss L C Wong had served the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) for over 40 years and retired from the post of Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director in March 2009. Hence she is conversant with Hong Kong housing policies and development. During her tenure with HKHS, Miss Wong had strived to instill the corporate culture of "love and care" and "pragmatism". She has been driving all sectors of the HKHS to reach the set standards of its social mission.

On the other hand, Miss Wong also actively promotes the development of the housing management industry. She had served as the Hon Treasurer of CIHAPB and a Co-opted Member of the Land, Rehousing and Compensation Committee of the Urban Renewal Authority. She was elected President of the Hong Kong Institute of Housing in 1993 and 1994. In 2004 and 2005, Miss Wong was appointed as the Chairlady of the Hong Kong Housing Managers Registration Board. Currently, she is a Member of the Subsidized Housing Committee of the Hong Kong Housing Authority, and a Member of the Land & Building Advisory Committee.

Miss Wong was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government in 2008.

Mrs Julia Wong had been with the HKHS for over 30 years before her retirement in 2001. Since then she has been serving as the Registrar for the Housing Managers Registration Board and acting as the Administration Manager for the office premises shared by the Branch, The Hong Kong Institute of Housing, the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies and the Housing Managers Registration Board.

Mrs Wong began active participation in the Branch Executive Committee in the 1980s, acting as the Branch´s Hon Treasurer for a number of years before becoming the Chairlady of the Branch in 1990. She continued as Chairlady for another year in 1991 in order to ensure that the Branch´s Silver Jubilee Celebrations could proceed smoothly. From 1996 to 1999 she represented the Branch as its Council Member. She is still a member of the Branch´s Publications Committee, providing unfailing support to APB.

Mrs Wong puts much effort in promoting the housing management profession and is always ready to offer advice and provide support whenever required.
