The novel coronavirus epidemic has brought extra workload to practitioners of the property management sector. To support the property management sector in anti-epidemic efforts, the Government has established the "Anti-epidemic Support Scheme for Property Management Sector" (ASPM) under the "Anti-epidemic Fund".
The objective of the ASPM (Phase I) is to provide financial support to frontline property management workers (i.e. cleansing and security workers) in private residential and composite (i.e. commercial cum residential) buildings. The ASPM will also alleviate the additional costs arising from strengthened cleansing efforts and the burden on the residents.
The scope of the ASPM (Phase II) extended to cover industrial and commercial buildings, with a view to provide financial support for improving personal protection and environmental hygiene of the frontline property management workers (i.e. cleansing and security workers) in these buildings and giving recognition to their services. Based on the unique features of industrial and commercial buildings, the funding cap is increased so that more frontline property management workers can be benefited from the scheme.
Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) is being commissioned by the Home Affairs Department to implement the ASPM. Updates will be released on PMSA's website. (https://www.pmsahk.org.hk/en/index.html)
